Top 5 European Holiday Destinations

So... I have something a little bit different for you lot today, I have my first guest post by the team at Timeshare Hypermarket. Based in Bournemouth (my former home), they have put together a list of the top European Countries to visit for your next holiday. You all should be know me well enough by now to know that I love travelling in Europe, so this is a treat for me too. Right, enough of me talking, Go ahead Timeshare Hypermarket... Europe is a melting pot of cultures and personalities with fascinating sights to boot! Let us take a look at 5 of the best with the UK, Madeira, Malta, Spain and Portugal to discover.

UK
First up is the United Kingdom, presenting ancient cities and landmarks, from the heritage city of Edinburgh to the unrivalled beauty of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Wander the cobbled Royal Mile from the Palace of Holyrood House right up to Edinburgh Castle and shop 'til you drop on Princes Street. Embrace nature at Dochart Falls, explore Dumbarton Castle and take in the breath-taking scenery atop Ben Lomond. Experience the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, the magnificent Blenheim Palace and spot lions and tigers at Longleat. Dive into the picture-postcard Scilly Isles strolling the stunning beaches of St. Martin’s before stopping for afternoon tea on St. Mary’s. Sample the Glengoyne Distillery in Glasgow and gaze in wonder at the displays of Loch Lomond Aquarium. Stroll around the Lost Gardens of Heligan, admire St Michael’s Mount and visit the tip of the UK with a day trip to Land’s End.
Madeira
Madeira, a popular holiday destination for couples and families alike, boasts a pleasant annual climate and open-armed locals. Explore the 580 metre high cliff-tops of Cabo Girao and Madeira's Botanical Gardens before hopping on a traditional Monte Toboggan to join the celebrations at the annual Jazz, Flower and Wine Festivals! The cosmopolitan capital city of Funchal boasts cobbled streets and distinct architecture mixed with popular tourist culture. Wander along the Levadas of the “Floating garden of the Atlantic” and sample enticing local cuisine, Caldeirada (Monster Fish Stew). Set sail from the glamorous marina or ride the magical cable cars gifting a birds eye view over the city.
Malta
Malta's influences span Sicily to the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, Spanish and more recently the British. Malta's UNESCO World Heritage Capital City, Valletta, is first stop for most visitors and is a truly formidable sight bordered by the sweeping Grand and Marsamxett Harbours home to sleek and elegant yachts of the rich and famous. Consisting of 3 Islands, the Maltese archipelago enjoys a typically pleasant Mediterranean climate with rugged cliff faces lapped by the deep blue Mediterranean Sea.
Spain
Bursting with passion and culture, Spain welcomes you with open-arms. Taste local cuisine with traditional tapas and wonderful flavours of the Mediterranean with Chiringuitos, Malaga fried seafood. Experience the glitz and glamour of Marbella to the traditional family-friendly Estepona and Fuengirola. Culture is an integral part of Spanish life with the Musee Picasso housing works from the famous artist, Pablo Picasso. Explore the Nerja International Dance & Music festival in July, the impressive Malaga Cathedral and El Tajo de Ronda are must-see sights too. Nicknamed the Costa Del Golf, this gorgeous region plays host to more than 60 golf-courses with many staging major European tournaments over the years.
Portugal

Portugal enjoys thousands of hours of sunshine each year with stunning golden beaches, rugged cliff faces and hidden caves. Explore the rich medieval history, numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites and lush green gardens dotted all over the country. Spend lazy days soaking up the sunshine at Praia da Rocha and Praia da Marinha beaches, explore the hidden beauty of the Benagil Cave before easing yourself through a round of 18 at the famous Vale do Lobo golf-course. If gift-shopping for your loved ones, head to the cobblestone Loule Market, north of Quarteira, where you'll find a traditional Portuguese Market full of surprises. ---------------------------------------------------------------
