Top 10 Travel Quotes to Fuel Your Wanderlust

I find myself constantly scrolling through Pinterest finding travel quotes to get me feeling inspired.

Travel quotes have the ability to influence, motivate and inspire people to book a trip or to even just brighten up their day. I know it gives me a bunch of happiness when I need a bit of a boost and gets me excited for Italy in September...

I wanted to round up my favourite quotes, set them on a nice background and share some inspirational thoughts with you!

So feel free to save, pin, tweet...whatever you like! Hope you get as inspired as me...

ONE

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world" - Anonymous

The reason why this is on the top travel quotes list is because when I moved abroad, over the whole year my mind-set completely changed. Due to the way I was being treated and how I was made to feel, I thought negatively of the world I couldn't see how things could get better.

When I went to Spain, I didn't notice how confident and positive I was until family told me how proud they were to see me grow and be happy. Now, I want to set an example for myself and other people and not have my past define me or happen in the future - traveling can give you that power.

TWO

"I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train" - Oscar Wilde

I am not one for writing in a journal, but I do write I everything I have done. I also collect lots of leaflets and take lots of videos.

It is always nice to look back on your travels and see what memories you made.

THREE

"The life you have led doesn't need to be the only life you have" - Anna Quindlen

Whether you are miserable or if you are happy but need a change, travelling can be that door to living a life unexpected and unknown.

My life two years ago is so different to the one I lead now, and I am so happy I am living in this one.

FOUR

"I would rather own a little and see the world, than own the world and see a little of it" - Anonymous

I used to be so tight with money, I love to save but I was missing out on doing things whether it was in the UK or abroad. My family has never been rich but we always found a way to do things as a family.

Now I have had one adventure, I have been able to go to Amsterdam and Barcelona within two months on a student budget and it was great!

FIVE

"We travel not to escape life,  but for life not to escape us" - Anonymous

Probably one of the most well known top travel quotes, but it is that for a reason. My perception of life was school, college, uni and then working with a two week holiday a year.

However, now I am older and seen more, my perception is different and opened my mind up to different options whether it is working abroad or working and taking a year off!

SIX

"Traveling - it leave you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller" - Ibn Battuta

Yes, yes and yes to this being one of the top travel quotes. I have so many memories from bed bugs in Italy to the Amsterdam Dungeon's I think people are sick of me speaking about it!

How many stories do you guys have?

SEVEN

"One's destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things" - Henry Miller

Again, fits in with the other top travel quotes, but every city I go to always makes me see thing in  a different way.

Always learning, no one knows everything and I love that!

EIGHT

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all" - Helen Keller

Agreed! It doesn't have to be going abroad, it can be a staycation or just getting out for the day! For me right now where I am stuck doing uni work, it could be something simple like going to Wetherspoons!

NINE

"Once a year, go someplace you've never been before" - Anonymous

As much as I love Barcelona and want to end up living back there, I do want to visit new places. Last year was Rome, this year was Amsterdam and in September I am off to Milan and Florence.

It is great to learn new facts about new places.

TEN

"It feels good to be lost in the right direction" - Anonymous

I always have to have a plan, but in Spain I found myself on a new journey and now I am back I want to continue it. I may not know where I am going, but with my mind-set I know it is somewhere good!

I hope you found some of these travel quotes inspirational and have given you ideas of motivation to do something different or book a trip away!
